Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu - Moderator

Professor Cihan Cobanoglu is the McKibbon Endowed Chair Professor of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership (CHTL) at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM), who also serves as the Director of the M3 Center for Hospitality Technology and Innovation and Coordinator of International Programs for the College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership. He is a renowned hospitality and tourism technology expert. Dr. Cobanoglu is a Fulbright Specialist commissioned by the Fulbright Commission which is part of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and World Learning (2018-2021). He is a Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) commissioned by Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP) and Educational Institute of American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).

Dr. Liu Bing - Panelist

Professor Bing Liu is a distinguished professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He received his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the University of Edinburgh. Before joining UIC, he was a faculty member at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests include sentiment analysis, lifelong learning, chatbot, natural language processing (NLP), data mining, machine learning, and AI. He has published extensively in top conferences and journals (his Google Scholar page). Three of his papers have received Test-of-Time awards: two from SIGKDD (ACM Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining), and one from WSDM (ACM International Conference on Web Search and Data Mining). He is also a recipient of ACM SIGKDD Innovation Award (the most prestigious technical award from SIGKDD). He has also authored four books: two on sentiment analysis, one on lifelong learning, and one on Web mining. Some of his work has been widely reported in the international press, including a front-page article in the New York Times. On professional services, he has served as the Chair of ACM SIGKDD from 2013-2017, as program chair of many leading data mining conferences, including KDD, ICDM, CIKM, WSDM, SDM, and PAKDD, as associate editor of leading journals such as TKDE, TWEB, DMKD and TKDD, and as area chair or senior PC member of numerous NLP, AI, Web, and data mining conferences. He is a Fellow of the ACM, AAAI, and IEEE. Scholar with more than 50.000 citations and h-index 84.

Dr. Dimitrios Buhalis - Panelist

Professor Dimitrios Buhalis is a Strategic Management and Marketing expert with specialization in Information Communication Technology applications in the Tourism, Travel, Hospitality, and Leisure industries. He is the Head of Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Director of the eTourism Lab and Deputy Director of the International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research, at Bournemouth University in England. He is also the First Vice President of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism, an Executive Board Member of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Affiliate Members, and the Editor in Chief of the most established Journal in Tourism: Tourism Review. Dimitrios is a Founding Member and the past President (2010-2014) of the International Federation for Information Technologies in Travel and Tourism (IFITT). Buhalis’ work is referenced widely, being the 3rd most cited academic in tourism and the 1st most cited in hospitality on Google Scholar with more than 30.000 citations and h-index 75

Dr. Marko Sarstedt - Panelist

Professor Marko Sarstedt is a Chaired Professor of Marketing at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (Germany) and Adjunct Professor at the Monash University Malaysia (Malaysia) His main research interests are in the advancement of research methods to further the understanding of consumer behavior. His research has been published in, for example, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Organizational Research Methods, Multivariate Behavioral Research, Decision Sciences, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Business Research, Journal of World Business, Marketing Letters, and Long Range Planning. Marko has co-edited several special issues of leading journals and co-authored four widely adopted textbooks, including “A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM)” (together with Joe F. Hair, G. Tomas M. Hult, and Christian M. Ringle). Marko’s works have been awarded with several citation and best paper awards. According to the 2018 F.A.Z. ranking, he is among the three most influential economists in the category research.
